Run Out Of Skin? Make Room For New Tattoos With Laser Removal

When you are young you often do things that you will later regret. One of these things that many young people do is to get "inked." Tattoos are cool at the beginning, but suddenly you are an adult who wants to look professional and that tattoo on your leg just doesn't reflect that type of professionalism. The answer for this is to get your skin art removed with some sort of ink removal. while there are creams out there that claim to remove or fade tattoos with time, the most comprehensive removal comes from the use of a laser and laser tattoo removal.

Can all tattoos be removed with lasers?

As technology increases, so does the permanence of tattoos. With new ink and new machines, tattoos are more difficult than ever to remove. Not all tattoos can be completely removed, after all, tattoos were meant to be permanent. However, with laser tattoo removal most tattoos can be removed with a series of treatments.

How does laser removal work?

Lasers use highly concentrated beams of light to break apart the ink of the tattoo in the skin, eventually allowing the bodies skin cells to eat up the remaining particles of ink. The procedure takes many sessions to be complete, depending on the tattoo. Also, while the heat from the laser is not damaging and does not burn, it could cause blisters to form on the surrounding skin. There is also the chance that the laser will leave behind a scar from the tattoo removal.

Who has the most success with tattoo removal?

If you have dark skin or are really low on body fat in the area of the tattoo, such as the ankle or foot, you may not have as much luck in removing your tattoo as someone with fair skin. Placement of the tattoo is also important. If the tattoo is on the arms or thigh or stomach, where there is plenty of body fat, your chances of success will be higher for removing the tattoo. Also, fair skin is less likely to show the remnants of a tattoo.

What is the process?

Removing tattoos with lasers will probably not be painless. However, each session is short and quick, and the after care is not really difficult. After a short laser session the tattooed area will need to be iced for about 30 minutes. Then, ointment is applied to the area just as if the tattoo were a sunburn. The area should remain dry and covered with a bandage for a few days following each treatment. Treatments are usually 4-6 weeks apart and the amount of sessions you will need will depend on the size and location of the tattoo.

Misconceptions and Untruths About Tattoos

One of the goals of many tattoos artists is to have mainstream media view tattooing as a serious art form and convince people to view the business with more respect.

People still have misconceptions of the culture and history of tattooing. They're also unaware of the drastic changes that have touched the industry in the past couple of decades. People that have not been exposed to the work of today's top tattoo artists would be shocked to see the skill level that is seen in today's body art. With more efficient and versatile machines, advanced techniques, and with the talent of today's tattoos artists, there is no doubt that it is truly an art form that deserves great respect.

Misconception: Until very recently tattooed patrons were likely sailors, bikers, or ex-convicts.

You will probably be surprised to learn that tattoo art was very popular with bankers, lawyers and other professionals until the time of the Great Depression in the 1920's. In Europe, tattoo studios were popular with wealthy aristocrats.

Untruth: Tattoos will kill any chance you have for a real job.

Although it's true that certain career paths will not be open-minded to tattoo work, there are still many reputable occupations that will not be closed to you just because you have body art. Many professional careers require a suit and tie. This type of attire just gives you an opportunity to cover up your body art in most cases.

Untruth: You'll have regrets when you get older and your tattoos will look awful when you are in your 70's.

I can't say this is entirely untrue. Let's be honest. Our tattoo work will be not be looking so hot in a few decades. The truth is we won't be alone. When surveyed, most people didn't regret their body art just because they had aged. Any misgivings were usually caused because they regretted the design they choose or the body art was done by a poorly skilled artist.

Misconception: Doing tattoos does not require any exceptional artistic talent. They just take a stencil of the picture and place it on the skin then trace the outline and fill in the color.

This is a fallacy about today's tattoo artists. It's true that some mediocre artists may only be able to adequately reproduce an image on skin using a stencil. The artwork is passable but not exceptional. But the majority of artists that you will find working today put their own individual artistic spin on their tattoo work. Many artists specialize in custom tattoo work. They are able to freehand designs directly on the skin or develop a unique piece of artwork to be made into a stencil.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I believe that if people were shown some of the outstanding and exceptional body art created by today's artists that they would be easily convinced that tattoo work deserves respect as an art form.

How To Cover Up Your Tattoos

A lot of people in the world have tattoos and millions of people are getting new tattoos every year. The reason this is important is because more and more employers are starting to judge people by the tattoos that they have showing. The problem that many people have is they can't really cover up their tattoos and if that is the case then you either need to try harder or forget about certain jobs out there.

I have a lot of tattoos and the thing that I suggest is to put them in spots on your body that people won't easily be able to notice them. Some examples are back tattoos, arm tattoos, and even low shoulder tats are great for anybody that might want a certain job later on. The problem with getting a tattoo that is visible on your neck is that people always look at a person's face and if you have a tattoo then they will see it every time.

Now I know that more and more people are getting tattoos and that is why I wanted to put together a small list of ways that you can cover up your tattoos when you need to.

One of the things I would recommend doing is applying some makeup to your tattoo. The thought of men putting on makeup might be a little tough at first but this is something that you will need to do. I know this might be a little strange at first but if this is what you have to do to get a job or just keep your tattoo a secret then so be it. I would rather use a little bit of makeup and be the only one that knows about it than to lose a job because of a tattoo that is visible.

Something else you can do to hide a tattoo is cover it with some clothes. Having a tattoo on your lower arm is no problem, you just need to wear a long sleeve shirt. If you have a tattoo on your leg then wearing pants would be the best thing to do. Now if you have a tattoo on your upper neck then you will either need to wear a turtle neck or wear a collared shirt and probably use makeup. What you need to understand is that covering up certain tattoos might be extremely difficult and that is why you should not get something that can be covered up.
